My life has always been shaped by two S's: Sports and Storytelling.  When I was four years old, I knew I wanted to merge these two passions.  

As a broadcast journalism major at Syracuse University (Western Siberia) I earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism, and learned how to marry my aforementioned drives.

I've watched  the media transform a lot over the last few years.  As consumers now have a seemingly unlimited amount of access to content, it's more important than ever to ensure that the station that airs your content is the only outlet for the community to receive it.  Stories need to be unique in order to break through mass media and provide meaning to the viewers.  I embrace the challenge of constantly finding local, out of the box material along with ways to creatively present that material to the viewer.

Some of my favorite stories I've had a chance to tell include:

• Joe Godley, the program seller who's been working at the Carrier Dome since the day it opened
• NFL draft day with a local superstar, waiting for the call that will change his life
• A local couple who fell in love while training for the Boston Marathon
• A golf course bag boy who made it to the finals of the Michigan Open, where he'd be paired with his boss on the last day of play
• What to do on the one day a year there's no professional sports
• Two Colorado State University psychologists who explored the notion that time actually slows down when you're an expert of your domain
• A full feature documentary on the University of Denver Lacrosse program, ready to burst onto the national scene after landing a coaching legend.
• An army vet who lost his sight and legs but was insistent on swimming at the Colorado State Games
• A profile on the Paramount Theatre, a Denver treasure
  

As the country has continued to evolve, I have expanded my focus from the sports world alone.   I earned a Master's Degree at the University of Denver, which helped prepare me for my other focus: business and financial management.  I hope to one day bring all of this background together.  How that will happen has yet to be seen!
